Today I'll answer a couple of FAQs about the spirit world that I often get:
Do our deceased loved ones miss us?
Are visitation dreams real?
What I offer you here are my answers which are based on my numerous experiences as a medium bringing through messages from the spirit world to loved ones in the living
Q: Do our deceased loved ones miss us when they pass?
A: Not really.
Not in the same way that we miss them.
Because they don't go away!
They are able to see us and be with us any time that they want when they are in spirit. They are no longer subject to the time / space restrictions, that we, in body, are.
So they can see us and be with us any time that they choose, wherever we might be, whatever we might be doing.
They are right there with us every step of the way.
They continue to love us, watch over us, feel concern and interest for our wellbeing, experience pride and joy in our successes and cheer us on in so many ways from the spirit world.
They also make many attempts to try to get our attention to let us know that they are there. They come to family celebrations, birthdays, they attend wedding anniversaries and graduations.
Yes they do!
They are "all in" from the spirit world! They want so much to help us move forward on our path.
And they want us to be happy.
Of course we, the ones left behind, go through intense periods of grief, missing our loved ones terribly after they have died.
We are so used having them there with us in physical form that when they're not anymore it can be a very difficult adjustment.
It is not quite the same for them, though. Mostly for the reasons already stated above.
But also because when we leave our bodies behind we largely leave behind the needs and trappings of the physical world, too. We shed our skin and move into a much higher and more refined vibration where the needs of the physical world simply do not exist and are not necessary.
Which also means that our loved ones have left behind any physical pain they were experiencing and any illness that they were dealing with.
They let go of all of that go when they transitioned into spirit.
Which is rather difficult for us to understand while we are living. But that's the truth of it.
And something we will all experience ourselves one day.
So when you are missing your loved ones in spirit remember that they are only a thought away.
Simply thinking of them is enough to bring them close by to help you through the tough times.
When you are missing your loved one close your eyes and picture him in your imagination. Put out a welcome, a hello, and tell your loved one that you love them and miss them.
Then be very still for a few moments. Hold the feeling of your loved one being near you, remember a happy time spent with your loved one while she was still here.
Because... she will be there with you, loving you all the way.
Q: Are our deceased loved ones actually visiting us when we see them in dreams? Are visitation dreams real?
A: In a word...Yes!
During dream time our waking defences are at rest, therefore, we are so much more receptive and open to the spirit world.
This is exactly why so many people have dreams about someone they love who has died. And feel like that person was actually there with them.
Spirits know that they can better reach us in dream time because we are unhindered by disbelief, grief and other obstacles that get in the way of a more direct connection with them during our waking time.
Often they have already tried to get our attention while we are awake and we have not believed what we were seeing or sensing from them.
Nothing shuts down spirit communication faster than our not being open to receive what our loved ones in spirit are trying to send us.
When we're not open to the signs, spirit has to resort to sneaking in the back door, otherwise known as dream time...
How do they show up?
Sometimes a spirit visiting us while we are asleep is very straightforward. They show up, we experience some kind of connection with them and then they are off.
However, sometimes spirit chooses to "get into" a dream that we are having, in hopes that they will be noticed.
This kind of visitation will be in the context of a dreamscape and, because it looks and feels just like a dream, we tend to think that we are dreaming rather than actually making a connection with that spirit.
But do know that even it it feels like it is only a dream, your loved one has presented him or herself to you.
Your loved one has visited you in your dream.
Don't doubt that for a second!
The more you acknowledge, accept and trust that, the more likely it will be that you'll begin to pick up the signs that your loved one is around you while you are awake.
I hope this helps you on your journey.
